Colin Hearts Kay is a film about love made with love. Despite an extremely modest $50,000 budget, the Conley Brothers managed to pull off extravagant special effects, hand drawn animation and beautifully cinematic shots.

Relying on sweat, ingenuity, and most importantly the latest technology, the filmmakers labored to create a cinematic experience equal to a project many times its budget level.

Central to this effort was shooting with the revolutionary Canon 5D Mark II digital still SLR camera. While now almost commonplace in the world of indie filmmaking, Colin Hearts Kay was one of the very first feature films shot with a digital SLR.
